Abstract: Accumulation process of 90Sr and 137Cs by freshwater mussels Unio conus (Bivalvia, Unionidae) in natural conditions was investigated. The mussels treated by verapamil accumulated 90Sr 2.8 times slower than the control ones. It is evident that slow calcium channels have great importance in process of radiostrontium accumulation. The process of 137Cs accumulation by the verapamil treated individuals is 1.3 times faster than that by the control mussels at the same time.
